1275 Engine
Can anyone tell me what I would need to fit a 1275 engine into the moggie. I know I would need all the ancillary, s to the engine. But will the 1098 gearbox fit onto the engine, can I use the exhaust system from the 1098. Will the engine fit straight into the car or would I need to alter any mounting brackets. Thanx
Re: 1275 Engine
Depends which 1275 it is....... This is covered over and over again - i suggest you use the 'search' facility to find out what's involved. Basically a Spridget 1275 is a reasonably straight fit - a Marina/Ital is a bit more difficult. Yes the exhaust can be used - but will strangle the engine, so best upgraded to a 'big bore'.

Does any one sell a big bore for a pickup with a 1275 mg engine? Preferably stainless.

I don't see why a 'saloon' exhaust system couldn't be used on a p'up - or just modified to come out the side if it really 'must'.

The chassis gets in the way as well.
