Re: PEAT BROWN CONVERTIBLE - BIRMINGHAM
Noted the numbers from this at Trav60.
Original engine nos too.
As well as your cars numbers, would owners inform me of any unique feature if
the car - something very difficult to change, a dent/extra holes in the dash/ radio
ariel etc.
Thanks

Re: PEAT BROWN CONVERTIBLE - BIRMINGHAM
Ideally we need some device that stops the vehicle from moving - wheel
clamp, chain it to a tree/lamp-post/another car?
A steel plate covering the existing door lock and a padlock around the
door handle, anyone on here able to make one?
Together with removal of the interior door handle, quite
a challenge for the theif!

Re: PEAT BROWN CONVERTIBLE - BIRMINGHAM
No broke both large side windows - all they needed was to get under the hood as it wasn't a very tight fit. Think it must have been opportunist joyriders, but the car still hasn't been found. I don't think it would have been stolen for "parts" as it needed a new hood welding, and a spruce up itself.

Re: PEAT BROWN CONVERTIBLE - Recovered!
I've just received this from the owner:
I am delighted to report that our Morris Minor Convertible DPU 660G,stolen two weeks ago,was spotted this afternoon having been abandoned by the thieves in Erdington.Sadly, she has been stripped of her interior, hood, and other parts but not the engine. We have yet to see her as she has been recovered by the police for scientific examination. Can you please update the website accordingly. We will report further once more is known. We suspect the thieves were frightened off by a story printed in the Birmingham Mail last Friday which highlighted Bunty's plight and may have made her too hot to handle
