Re: morris minor needed for wedding
You'd need to be a bit more clear about what you're looking for before anyone could help really - what day in July, whether you're looking for the archetypal white Minor convertible with red roof/trim or something else, how far you'll be wanting to go and/or how much of the day you'd want the car, etc.
Have you thought about the practicalities of a Minor for your wedding - do you actually fit in one once you've got your dress on (no offence intended
as sometimes ladies have found they needed the front passenger seat removing in order to get in and out with any degree of decorum).
Are you in, and have you tried, your local area branch? They'd certainly be the best place to try first since they're obviously local to you. From memory, you're not that far from Andrew Bywater who has a professional weddings outfit - he's at http://www.mirabelleclassiccars.co.uk/ so give him a call too. There are a few other professionals I can think of but they're a bit further from you as you say.
If you are looking for a 'non-pro' car, make sure its owner contacts his insurance company and checks cover. You can cover his expenses ONLY, and no 'tip', otherwise it becomes a hire and reward affair and his normal insurance will be invalid. As long as there's no 'pay' I believe its okay (I'll ask Dave Youngs to post here for clarification as he's the 'man in the know' on this).

Sorry Mike, I wasn't around at the weekend so have only just seen this......
As Mike has suggested, it's probably best to check with the individual insurer as each will have a different criteria and rules will be different depending on whether you're doing it as a favour for a friend or whether you're receiving payment.
We'd certainly be able to extend our normal classic insurance to cover wedding hire as long as we know in advance
Good luck with the wedding, I hope it all goes smoothly

Okay, see if you can get yourself down to The Bell Inn, Bell Hill, Finedon, Nr. Wellingborough, next Wednesday night at about 8pm. The Northants Branch will be having their monthly meeting there and you should be able to find someone there who can offer some help
Good luck, and let us know how you get on!
