New member with a new project

Post by alienb4ndit »

Hi...
I'm new to the Morris Minor scene, just bought one with my dad. It needs quite a bit of work to bring it back from the dead.
There is a link below to my dropbox folder that contains some photos of it before starting any serious work.
I'm currently scouring the web for the best place to buy the panels I need.... any ideas?

Many thanks,

Paul

Still struggling to find a panel supplier that can actually supply what I need. Any ideas?

What about ESM http://www.morrisminorspares.co.uk. They have always been great for any requirements I've had

Cheers

As above ESM should be able to supply almost any repair panels that you need, some parts you may have to make from sheet steel but most are readily available. What bits do you need and we can add a link to it.

I've replaced/am replacing very similar bits to most of the stuff you probably need - I have used ESM and Bull Motif for parts - I'd probably rate the stuff from ESM slightly higher. Prices are very similar, and some (but not all) panels are the same from both suppliers.

ESM currently to seem to be longterm out of stock of some items - I ordered from Bull Motif for my last order has ESM were out of drivers side door pillars (I think they have been for a while - IIRC, that was why I ordered the stuff to do the LH of my car first!).

These pages can be quite handy to work out what repair panel does what: http://www.morris-minor.co.uk/p462.htm
If I were starting from scratch again, I'd probably print them out and take them to the car to work out what to order (Minors are actually pretty simple construction, once you've cut one open it becomes apparent how they are put together - but it can be quite confusing ordering panels just from the descriptions...
