what year is my traveller ?

Post by £31trav »

hi all, just wondered if anyone could help wih the year of my traveller. was told it's a 59 and was promised the log book, but it never arrived. it has trafficators but nothing else that stands out as distinctive to me, normal screen - not split. i also wanted to know what year/s the model with trafficators was made ? would appreciate any advice.
cheers, doug

you need to post the chassis number then someone will be able to tell you what year it is.
Also you need to fill in a form and send to the DVLA to get the logbook.

The chassis number is found on the Morris Motors plate next to the fuse boxes. We'll be able to tell you it's age within a month or so. A replacement logbook now costs £19 so it might be worth chasing up the old one. You'll need to do a SORN declaration as well if the car is off road.

The splitscreen models date from 1956 or earlier.

Trafficators were replaced by flashing indicators in October 1961.

The DVLA charge of £19 is not meant to apply if the previous owner did not pass you the logbook - it is only when you loose it and want a replacement.
(hence it being a ridiculous carge to re-print an A3 sheet of paper with black text :roll: - new labour new taxes ;-) Stupidity like this new charge leads to more cars being sold without the logbook, which is against the advice of the police and all motoring organisations)

'56 <-- yours --> '61

Yes, so could well be a '59.
