idle insurance query

No idea about the insurance these days.... my renewal docs say "Club name: none given. Membership number: None given". eh?? ...gave them every year since 1990... and later... "If you provide your car club membership details a further discount may apply"....Its about £130.... my question is... presumably I don't have to belong anymore to get insurance at this rate?? Oh, and its Footman something or other.

Best bet is to give them a bell - there's a post near the top of the board with their phone numbers. They've probably just lost your club member number. From what you've said it sounds like the rate you've been offered now is available as a non-member but that a lower price should/might/won't be available if you are still a member

Oh dear FJ again... Most folk pay less than £90 for Morris Minor insurance. I would shop around........and if you find better (equal benefits of course) ask FJ to pricematch if you want to stay with them. Frankly - when I buy insurance/energy etc for car/house etc - I always go with the best deal I can find, and refuse to be seduced with 'price match' offers.

Yea same here I now change each years nowadays
Used to stick with the red phone people now I move around the market place

I can understand the desire to share interesting quirks with everyone, but if anyone has a query about their insurance, then the best place to get answers is from their broker, regardless of the company concerned. In this case, it's FJ, and although Dave will probably see this, it's still better to query the FJ office in the first place. Interestingly, I have correspondence on the same issue, the renewal papers suddenly, after 25 years, lost all trace of both my MMOC membership and the modifications to the cars. I contacted FJ and it was sorted straight away.

When was that? Nothing against talking about insurance. I must admit on many occasions I have typed huge posts (on this and other sites) hit the submit button, walked away thinking nothing of it - and its not submitted (or I hit the wrong button etc), then thinking an admin has deleted it.

It was all kicking off between 2 members.
Me and a couple of others were trying to smooth things out a bit by slightly changing the subject, and I got the impression it was working, and it was actually turning into a half decent interesting thread (imo) once the handbags had stopped waving and the storm in the tea cup had blown over, but then your main man must have seen it later that morning.....and deleted the lot.
Totally unnecessary in my book. Not seen anything like it or completely OTT (IMO) on any other forum anywhere in the last 10 years, but hey ho, O don't own this place, and I DON'T MAKE THE RULES or make decisions in here, regardless if I agree with them or not.

Yea, posts sometimes get deleted as you say if they wander too far off topic, but that's just to keep things all nice and tidy and for 'flowing' purposes. Absolutely spot on within reason.
Some of the posts/comments that wander away from the main subject can be hilarious and can lead to another thread sometimes which is good in my eyes.

I'm not complaining about the infamous T's and C's Matt, I was merely stating my frustration about the shenanigans that went on on Saturday morning.
Basically, it was handbags.
Not easy for either poster when a bit of prodding is going on, and in fairness to both of them, I'd have probably done the same.
(agreed with both of their points of view in many respects, so no sides were being taken from here at C.J. Towers)
It's all gone and blown over now anyway.
