non working Ignition light

Hi hope some one can help. I changed the spark leads on my car and when I went to start the car I found that the ignition light had stopped working the car starts and runs fine. I have checked all the wiring and it seens ok and the ignition light bulb has been changed. While the engine has been running I checked to see if it was charging and found that it was charging at 13.3 voltds and even with all the lights plus fog lights and heater all on it was still reading at 13 volts and I checked this by using a meter connected to both battary leads. Is it ok to use the car like this I have both amp meter and volt meter.

Of course it is - some alternators don't use the light for 'sensing'. But do if you haven't just disturbed the small wire to the alternator when working around the spark plugs..

I have since change the wires going to the alternator and now find that the oil light is now staying onall the time. When the car is ticking over the light is on dim and when I speed the engine up the light goes brighter. The ignition light is still not working..
Please could some one please give me an idea where to look to sort this out. I am at the stage of pulling my hair out well I would be if I had some.
I know that it has to be some thing to do with the wiring but I do not know where to look.
I have just bee have an other look and it I dis connect the small wire from the alternator the oil light goes out.

Assuming everything was OK before swapping the spark plug leads it sounds like you have disturbed some wiring and you need to check this through.

The oil light has no connection to the alternator so this could be the starting point as perhaps wiring or a joint has been disturbed. Tedious but you need to follow the wiring and maybe even take the speedo out to prove the wiring for continuity.

No point asking the same question in two places - you will just get the same answers...... You have mixed up the warning light bulbs.....swap them back. Then please report the battery voltages.
