National Rally - 2014

Post by LouiseM »

Just to let you know that the date / venue for next year's National was announced at today's branch liaison meeting. It will be held at Kelmarsh Hall, Northampton on 28th & 29th June.

My (non-official) minutes of the meeting will be available to view in the members area in the next few days once I've had a chance to write them up.

One weekend to early for me, though will try and make it. I'm surprised it's at kelmarsh so close after being there in 2012.

All down to logistics
Well 75% is
And the returns from gate sales to cover the hire of the marquees and site fees
This allows a return that the rally pays for itself therefore keeping club fees at their present level
This wouldbe my take at least on a wonderful decision at a great location
Here's hoping we get the good weather

Actually Kelmarsh (as has been said many times before) is a really good site for the MMOC. Good links to all motorways. Large level site which means the campsite isn't far from the main marquee/arena, and because it's just a field and not tied to a large estate we can do what we like (within reason) as far a catering, showers, displays etc are concerned.

The MMOC does not have the funds to promote a rally on the scale of Cornbury, and also the Traveller at 60 held at Gaydon each year.

To answer Alex's question, Katt has been in touch; and all options are being looked at.

I'm stoked to be going to Kelmarsh again! My first national venue and easy to get too! Awesome.

Would love to go but as little one is now at school we won't be able to. Shame the dates aren't in the school holidays. I also belong to the Austin Ten Drivers Club and their National is always during the school summer holidays to allow members with children to attend for the whole weekend.

It will be my first National Rally. Just looked the venue up and it looks excellent and simple enough to get to. The bonus is ...it has a helicopter landing site...really good (for anyone with a helicopter)...I'm just sayin  nervous coff.

Does anyone have details on tent/camping on the site? :)

There's plenty of camping space - what details do you want to know?

Yippee. Kelmarsh is not far from me and I am hoping that my Moggie will get there, finally, after a 7 year (on and off) restoration

Walking distance to the rally site, plastic cubicle toilets & showers or perhaps better, no electric hookups. cold water standpipe for water. Some groups come up together and stick together, others meet at the Rally like Young Minor owners & Website lot. Nearly all are friendly and sociable. There will be some kind of evening do in a big marquee on Sat evening plus various entertaining things during the day.

Highly recommended.
