7 votes for Scotland so far
Looks like its Bonnie Scotland folks
Scone Palace a wonderful venue and it holds a superb range of facilities for car club large events
It is well served with two motorway links
And is cost effective (cheap)

Somewhere interesting and challenging to get to with a few hills, Horseshoe Pass, Porlock Hill, Hardknot Pass etc. rather than a boring old motorway

Before I even got to the first post that suggested Tatton Park...I was thinking Tatton Park...Great venue, loads of festivals and shows there every year, easy access by motorway and pretty much central.

Just had a thought,If this is asking for members suggestions shouldn't it be in the members area? Still think Tatton Park.
Re: Where do YOU the members think the National rally should be
More ''open'' out here, so more chance of suggestions. Even non-members may toss in a good idea as well.leafie wrote:Just had a thought,If this is asking for members suggestions shouldn't it be in the members area? Still think Tatton Park.

Re: Where do YOU the members think the National rally should be
Why aren't members invited to be consulted to where they would like it maybe on a poll instead of the chosen few deciding.I find that the MMOC ignores any positive input and doesn't let its paid members any say

Because it's a national club and not especially democratic? Why aren't members invited to be consulted to where they would like it maybe on a poll instead of the chosen few deciding.I find that the MMOC ignores any positive input and doesn't let its paid members any say
Think about a map of England with a point on it that you can drag round and drop on a venue.
The "break even " point is going to vary with every move, how many people will attend, how much the venue will cost = how much needs to be charged which also affects how many people will attend.
Add a bit of bias for being near where the club and the committee members are located and you have your answer!

Re: Where do YOU the members think the National rally should be
Calm down guys (friendly warning...) - remember the T&C about critisism
I did wonder about moving it to the members section, but decided that the rally is open to all so the thread should be open.
I would also imagine that the venue for next year has already been decided and this thread won't make any difference to next years venue. There are, however, some interesting ideas for venues further in the future and im sure the appropriate people here will pass them on to the orgainsers. (There are a couple of active people on here who help organise the national rally)
Personally I don't really care where it is. If I have the weekend free and a suitable vehicle I will go there (even if its in Scotland )
