carb. air filter

Post by boydogs »

I have the air filter type which has an oil inside, i have been told to just fit the whole filter case without the oil. is this correct, i have just got the engine running after a 10 month restoration and is almost ready for the road. Its a 1958 950 saloon. with a h2 carb. Thanks boydogs

If you run it without oil you might as well take it off completely and shovel some grit through the inlet. :-?

The oil catches dust and dirt in the air which then settles harmlessly at the bottom in a sludge which should be cleaned and refilled with fresh oil at every service.
