help with spraying

Hi all im about to buy a compressor to start spraying my own cars, but i never sprayed anything, does anyone know where at least i could read some usefull tips on how to spray etc? thanks

Well, Practical Classics did a short series on it a while, back. 3 Articles; taught me everything I know about spraying. Well, that and this board here. They'll do photocopies for a fiver (PC)....

Hi Frank
I notice you're in Malta. Don't need a hand setting up the compressor and gun do you? Used to do a bit of spraying - in the dark ages of cellulose paint - i remember the practical classic series - seemed quite sensible (I'll always remember if something's REALLY wrong - cuz i hold grudges I do) so that's probably a good start. and before you attack your mog get loads of practise on dead panels - especially curvy ones (a mog front wing suspended upside down would be an excellent exercise in paint loading) - practise makes all the difference. try different thinners/paint ratios - that'll give you an understanding of what's going wrong later - before you do it for real and it becomes too much of a problem!

tis indeed sir - when you spend a day spraying cars, go home, blow your nose and remember exactly what colours you'd been using. i had hankies like paint charts in them days - only twenty years ago... now i've got no hair - i've got to blame it on something

i think my hair's just kicked into reverse - now it's coming back down from my bonce and popping out my nose and ears - delightful...
