East Sussex have new sets of 20 and 30 listed on there web site at £295. I bought these when I did my engine up in 2009. My old ones were +10 and one had broken at the top and the others all had broken the top rings.......

Too many Minors so little time.....

I have a set of low compression plus 20thous so I think I will sacrifice the old piston and machine the top off it and spigot it on to the low compression one. I can then drill and tap four holes straight through the crown and rivet them over and that should do the job!! I used to work for a diesel engine manufacturer and most of our pistons had separate crowns. 8)

Thanks for looking, I have put the old crown on the low compression piston and its working OK.I have two sets of the low compression pistons but they have no rings, useful for jobs like this.I have just aquired a 1952 MM engine complete so may change it over sometime. Regards Iain.
