Also should be noted that this is a registration from 1963 when the alpha numeric with date letter was first introduced. Back in the sixties it was common for older vehicles to be issued with A and B registrations when they were re-registered. It may be difficult to find the original registration number or why it was re-registered.

Hi if the car was imported or used by forces when new it was common to issue an A plate when returned to UK. Your car would previously have had a different reg.
Some early registration transfers were also given a replacement A plate irrespective of their original build date.

Red without a doubt.
Black on black would not look particularly good in my eyes, Cream would be ok, but there never was a cream interior a s standard, A black car would have had red interior from new, plus its a nice contrast

Will i need a 2 ton hoist to get the lump out or could I manage with a jack and brute strength father in law used to play with gearboxes like they were made of polystyrene
Just want to make the initial strip down as easy as poss
