Re: Morris
They changed in late 1961 but I have seen 1962 cars still with them.I think you may find they have been done as a safety feature and a lot of the trafficators used to get knocked off and todays drivers don't look for them .
Re: Morris
Hi thanks
This Morris as the trafficators low down which indicates 2 door saloon
The fron and rear lights although are of a later than 1953 kind the last ones with the red and orange plastic and chrome surround
The vin and log book states 1953
How could this be
Thanks

Re: Morris
Somebody has fitted later lights (and possibly wings) to your 1953 car. The orange and red lights are mid 60s cars onwards.
Cheers John - all comments IMHO

Re: Morris
Yes I thought that may be the case I suppose I can convert back though as it came with a original metal cheese grater
But that will leave the lights in the wings !
I can get older wings but a more easier idea would be to blank them as the wings are solid
Any one with lights to fit the 53 please give me a shout that includes the headlights
Thanks

Re: Morris
Mini Headlights are a good Idea if you refit the cheese grater front panel as they are the same size as the minor and you can use the mini headlights as a side lights so you can convert the side lights in the cheese grater panel to indicators and plate over sidelight holes in the wings.
You also can wire the trafficator and the indicators to work together by using 2 flasher units for left and right circuits
