What year is it, looks nice and solid from that picture, how is it underneath?

Hi, she's a 1955 , underneath is not so good , needs all new footwell + few patches here and there , new brakes all round , and getting her to start ( not getting a spark , but engine turns over) and there's a few missing bits ...[frame][/frame]

Yes both rear wings are the original one and are in great condition , fronts have been replaced with fibreglass ones , that I want to replace with metal ones . Cheesegrater? Yes , She does have a few holes that need patching ( inside front and rear inner wings , leaf spring mont nsr , and all inside floor , needs new red carpets and the seats re done in red as well and bodywork will be done in light cream , New brakes , hand brake cables , new exhaust , and there's a few engine bits missing ... ... ... That's what I've found so far , I bet I will find more as I take bits off ) but she hasn't been welded before so no previous bodges

well it makes life easier not undoing someone elses bodges, great project. If its a 55 it should have the slatted grill, cheesegrater grills are what the early cars have, good to see the original high arch wings as well.

its the correct type anyway doesnt look too bad

If you paint the fibreglass front wings they will look fine, until you can find some original steels.
At least they haven't had any holes cut out for the more modern (Morris Minor 1000) type of indicator / side light arrangement, which means if you want to keep the original look you can.
If not just source a pair of steel 1000 type front wings, I believe they will easily fit and they are easy to find.
Also it will save cutting into a pair of original series 2 steels, which I believe are harder to come by these days.

The plan is to keep her the more original as possible , she'll be sprayed light cream colour and red seats and carpets , cream wheels and chrome caps ...

By light cream do you mean Old English White? (Which is a creamy colour.)
