Rusty Half Shafts

Post by mobylette »

I have been lucky enough to acquire a pair of NOS half shafts. They have been stored for many years in a concrete garage, and are covered in a light coating of rust. What would be the best method to polish the bearing/oil seal area?

Thanks. No crocus paper to hand, but I had some fine wet & dry which I used with thin oil, then buffed up with Solvol. Came up pretty well. Can't seem to find any diamonds though.
