Re: Need a bit of carb help
No the pump isn't 'wrong' and is perfectly up to the task but regulation is key. Still cheaper than buying a new SU pump and a perfectly good solution for anyone looking to move to a more modern set up.

Too much pressure isn't "right" as you have found.

Seemed like people were pretty reasonable on here at first but it appears you aren't short of the usual forum silly comments
The pump is a good option as a cheaper and perfectly suitable alternative to the SU pump. The missing piece of information was that it needs to be regulated to 2-3 psi to work properly. So does it work perfectly? Yes. Is it cheaper? Yes. Is it a good solution? Yes. Do I know better? What sort of comment is that

Re: Need a bit of carb help
I have a facet pump with a cheap regulator and it works fine (is a hif44 mind, so it probably wants a bit higher pressures).
Make sure your pump is low, ideally level with the tank. Not had any problem with mine. It shouldn't need a retune of the carb. If you are having trouble tuning it though I recommend a colour tune. Though some don't like them.

Thank you, yes I have mounted it just below the tank output level - what did you regulate to out of curiosity?
