1275 engine fitting into a 1000

Post by mikefaragher@talktalk.net »

I am fitting a 1275 engine from an ITAL into a 1098 Minor - keeping the original gearbox. Can anyone tell me which

Backplate, flywheel, clutch and starter motor I should use?

Thanks

With the Ital engine you will need a new or re-machined back plate, the standard flywheel will also have to be remachined to fit these are all available from Bath, you can then use the standard minor clutch and starter motor. You will also need to modify the timing chain cover or buy a converted one so the fan misses the cover, you will also have to change the type of heater valve as the postion is different or get an adaptor from East Sussex.
