VIN / Chassis number (really struggling)

Post by lifeisgr8 »

Hello everyone.

I currently own two minors. one being a car that I am rebuilding an engine on. and a morris minor Van.

The issue with the Morris van I am unable to find any identification other than the number plate EBW 656K. I have check the bulkhead, ( battery area, door shuts. bonnet slam panel.

Is there a way I can find out the vin number from records. or am I looking in the wrong place? the log book has been misplaced.

Much appreciate any help on offer.

kind regards

At least the van is shown on the DVLA site, as below; so a duplicate V5 log book can be obtained.

Date of Liability 29 08 1984
Date of First Registration 02 02 1972
Year of Manufacture Not Available
Cylinder Capacity (cc) Not Available
CO2 Emissions Not Available
Fuel Type PETROL
Export Marker N
Vehicle Status Unlicensed
Vehicle Colour BROWN
Vehicle Type Approval Not Available
If the chassis plate is missing from upper left side of bulkhead, there may be a plate on the engine bay floor to the side of the engine (often rusted or covered in gunge). Not sure if there are any more stamped numbers on a 1972.

Chassis plate should be on n/s cab dr card.

Pm the cab & engine nos. to narrow it down.
Further investigations uncovered it was an inside job!!
