Chrisp Street Festival, Poplar - Sunday 8th September

Post by LouiseM »

Details of this event have been forwarded to the club. If anyone is interested in attending please contact Ben Young direct via the email address listed below.
I would be very grateful if you could invite your members to take part in The Chrisp Street festival on 8th September in Poplar, East London (E14 6AQ) There is a distinct vintage feel to proceedings, with live music, swing dance, cookery demos and cinema screenings.

We would love to have some moggies on site, particularly with it being the Morris centenary this year.
Morris Minor owners could exhibit their vehicles between 11am and 6pm in pride of place in our market square.
We are well aware that there is a lot of classic car activity at the start of September so we would make sure exhibitors would be receiving VIP treatment.

If all interested members could drop me an email to beny (at) capitalpropertiesltd.com I would be very grateful.

Very tempted, just the other side of the river to me.
Not sure if I'd want to be there for 7 hours though.

Turned up for this and it was a fun day out.
The organisation wasn't great (first time the event has happened) Morris Minors made up 3/4 of the classic cars there!
Plenty going on and different cuisines to try, made a change from a regular rally.[frame]Image[/frame][frame]Image[/frame]
In the background you can just see a nice Green Traveller with a coffee machine in the back, made a very nice cappuccino!
The only other classic car there was a nice Jaguar that the Lindy hoppers brought along. No picture I'm afraid.[frame]Image[/frame]
The Hula Hoop girls were very good and popular with everyone.[frame]Image[/frame]

We went to this too, it was a quiet one, but relatively pleasant, the DJ using two portable gramophones
& 78's was pretty awesome.
