The best kind of airport transfer?
Hi everyone,
since you guys are so helpful when it comes to MM's, I was hoping you could help me out with this little question as well. As a web engineer I just signed a contract with a (big) client - actually the most important one I've ever had, and next week he will be visiting me to discuss the details of the project. He will be flying in, and of course I want to make a good impression. I will not under any circumstances let him go by public transport alone, so I was thinking about hiring one of these limousine services like this one here. Of course picking him up in my MM would be a lot of fun as well, but I'm not so sure that it's suitable for business matters. ;)
What do you guys think? Should I hire the limousine service or pick him up myself? (I do have a modern car as well ...) Looking forward to hearing your answers!
Regards,
Wilson887

For me I'd say pick him up in person, Gives it more of a personal touch.
Also helps with the small talk, gives you a bit more insight as to what he/she wants to hear in your meeting
As for the Limo service, if you don't have previous experience with the company and it turns into a disaster (shows up late etc) it could put you off on the wrong foot. At least if YOU'RE late / wrong terminal you only have yourself to blame.
Just my opinion, but I'd go with the personal approach...

Pick him up in the Morris. Be proud of being British in a British manufactured car
Give it special polish and valet it first of course

Agreed - if its a clean and tidy example!
I wouldn't pick up an important client in ANY of my vehicles
And a limo gives the wrong impression really - its too OTT.

Where is the big client from?
Limo does seem OTT, wherever it is.

Does you MM have seat belts? It is entrenched now that we must wear seat belts so some passengers may not be keen if you don't have them fitted. I regularly take work colleagues in my Minor so even think of it as a treat so go for it if you feel confident it will make the right impression.

I suppose most clients like to be pampered, ego and all that but if he's a down to earth type of guy the Minor would fit the bill.
Never know he might be fed up with another limo!

Re: The best kind of airport transfer?
I wouldn't pick a client up in a limo too flash and making the wrong impression or the minor he may have luggage and also doesn't look professional
.I would hire a nice car for the day nothing too flash but something to give credibility to your business or maybe your own car

Re: The best kind of airport transfer?
Thanks for all your replies! A lot of different opinions on this one! I think I'll stick with the limousine service and pick something that's not too flashy or anything - after all we're not talking pink stretch limousines. ;)
Re: The best kind of airport transfer?
He might think he'll be paying for that, one way or the other!
