BMC your answer doesn't help the OP!

Mark - I've trawled through this site and cannot find any reference other than Blk1! I think they probably used whatever "black" they could find. I agree not helpful if you are trying to touch up a section or just re paint one wing.

Sorry cannot help more.

The reference book I have shows the Minor BMC black code as BK1, not BLK1. According to this Sprite site the ICI equivalent code is 122 if that helps? : http://members.tripod.com/PREV_PDLJMPR/color.htm

Unbolt one of the rear wings and get the paint shop to match the colour directly.

ASL - I did say I was sorry I couldn't help........... and my post did punt the thread back to the top for others to pick it up. Seems none of them have helped greatly either - least of all YOU....so I wonder why you question my posting when your own is no better. At least mine was intended to be mildly amusing.... Great confusion now seems to abound.......surely Black is Black ??? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tqgwnv0HCk8

BLK 1 is no longer available as an ICI code. Ref http://seriesmm.mmoc.org.uk Tech Info, Morris Minor Paint Colour Codes

Bmc
Black is no longer black. Years ago you had black then super black which actually looked blacker. Now when you mix a black for modern cars there can be two or more tinters in a colour blues reds yellows white greens etc even two blacks in small enough amounts but it can sometimes be seen when someone has put wrong shade on . What is worse is when a manufaturer has two colours eg silver that if you had two cars side by side you would not know thr difference, and dont get me started on all the variants of the same colour

I agree, the only way to match the paint exactly - especially with black - is to get a sample from the car and have it computer analysed and reproduced at a paint shop. :D
