two unknown minors
i have two minors they are both split screens one being a convertible and the other a two door saloon, i have no paperwork at all for either of them and i do not know the registration of them. The saloon chassis number is302450 and the convertible398040. Is there anyway i can find the original numbers and date them. Also what is the procedure now the the mot is no longer required. Hope someone can help.

Re: two unknown minors
Hi,
Whatever the answer to getting the numbers back or them re-registered is - someone on here will have the answer for you -
I believe you will still need to get them tested (for roadworthyness) before you will be able to register them, or at the very least before you are allowed to drive them legally on the road again.
But then you are probably going to restore them anyway.
Best wishes,
Mike.

Re: two unknown minors
The chassis number 302450 signifies a Minor built in 1954 and 398040 one built in 1956. Even though an MOT would not be required you would still need to ensure that the vehicles are recorded on the DVLA database. If you are a club member Rob Thomasson may be able to help you with obtaining new registration numbers from the DVLA (contact details in the club magazine). If not I suggest that you contact the DVLA directly to ask for advice.

Re: two unknown minors
FB?/??/302450 = 11/54
FC?/??/398040 = 1/56
If they have been taxed since 1979/80, their details should be on the DVLA database.
Check the body/engine numbers & contact DVLA

Re: two unknown minors
Can (will) they search on that basis when the Reg numbers are not known? Are there no old tax discs with the cars - maybe fallen down the back of the glovebox or parcel shelf etc??

Re: two unknown minors
I think DVLA can do chassis number searches.
No registration numbers nor chassis number prefixes - are the chassis plates missing too?

Re: two unknown minors
