It looks like this one is not the original, the nut / insert is missing, and no text on the top.
I asked the seller for a picture, he told the text is gone in the years.
A picture from a possible original one is in this topic:

With text on the top, and insert nut.

Definitely not an original MM one nor is it the bakelite Series E one either so probably not even Morris.

Doesn't look like a gearknob at all to me, more likely taken from a cupboard door!

Oh dear...

How that came about to be fitted to a car must be lost in the mists of time.

I wish I had that sort of money to waste on the wrong gear knob

The same seller on eBay has another gear Knob up for sale apparently off a 49 MM http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Morris-Minor- ... 27d6239d5f

Were the gear knobs made out of Bakelite as the one on my car has more of rubbery feel to it.

The original gear knobs were rubber with a single line joining the gear position numbers

The bakelite one as currently listed on ebay comes from either a Morris 8 Series E or a 10 M. Same shape and style as the rubber MM one. Have used several of these over the years as slightly easier to find than the correct rubber ones but heavier so tend to get vibrations from the gear lever.

Same picture, same description, same guy?
Maybe this man found a box with kitchen knobs, lookalike mm parts, and sell it as MM gear knob on ebay.
When, the next one is there at the end from this auction.
