New member request for checking over a Moggie

Post by k666knr »

Good afternoon ladies and gents.

I have just joined the forum, so please be gentle :-). I have been looking out for a Morris Minor for ages as a project to keep me busy and out of the Mrs' hair and have decided that I will go for it :-). I was originally looking for a Tourer but have come to the conclusion that for the time being a 2 door saloon will suffice and it can also be converted at a later stage if I still want one.

Looking around there are some in really nice condition; I know I shouldn't just look skin deep :lol: and my searches for a Moggie have taken me to e-bay *ducks for cover!* where I have found one for a fairly reasonable price and it's also fairly local. Problem is, I have never owned a car which I have had to look at to deeply; my first car was bought off my brother and was only a couple of years old and my second I have only had just over 2 years (both modern cars) so I really don't know what I am looking for if I was to go and check it over. It's all very well reading the advice etc which says check for this and that but for a complete novice like myself I wouldn't be 100% sure what I was looking for. I was therefore wondering if there was anyone fairly local to myself (TS1 postcode) who wouldn't mind taking a look at it with me? The car in question is http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Morris-Minor- ... 3a833a364a . Like I said from the photos looks ok but it could be a complete wreck when you look closer.

Many Thanks

Karl

Welcome to the forum - too far away for me, but hopefully someone will offer to have a look. Looks 'fair' in the pictures - but no underneath pictures (VERY important - so try asking for some??) and no underbonnet pictures - also important as general indicator of vehicle condition.

To save searching;
TS1, MIDDLESBROUGH, Town Centre (Gresham, University, Abingdon,), Middlesbrough.

Too far from London for me but there will be people who will help.
