Anyway I put a satnav in the glovebox and it seems to work ok in that little metal box I was worried no stallites would get to it. It can see 9 satallites, I haven't driven the car yet and noticed if it's sluggish or if there's a problem in built up areas. I think it's quite neat. I had a sat nav desk top dock and just put that in the glove box. Ran the wire to a cigarette lighter/USB combo. Which just went to earth and the only on with ignition side of the fusebox. (well actually the previous owner had fitted a stereo and conveniently (in some ways) made a mimic of the fuse box under the dash for situations like this.)[frame]
So now the sat nav can be removed and taken with me, the dock put towards the back of the glove box, If i wanted to be extra safe I'll just through in my demisting cloth to cover all evidence to stop a potential break in
(yes I need that chrome strip around the glove box opening)
