I'm about to fit the wiper motor that came with my 1967 2 door. I took off the top cover and have found two loose clips - one looks like a circlip. The other seems to be made of copper and has a thin arm attached to it.
Can anyone confirm please how/where these should be fitted?
Thanks

Re: Wiper motor internals
The arm is the contact for the self parking - it's held in place (very specific place) by the circlip........

Aha - can you be more specific? The little arm fits perfectly onto the slotted spindle and indeed the circlip is holding it in place. Am I right in thinking that the arm therefore points down towards the worm drive rather than up to the cap?
Thanks as ever for your help Roy

Up towards the cap, it's the self parking mechanism.

As above - it parks the wipers - so you need to rotate the lid and trial and error till the wipers park where you want them to........

Excellent! Mission accomplished and it was all quite logical in the end. Many thanks
