Spanner sizes

Post by Tapitha »

What is the spanner size for the small screw that holds the front wheel brake cylinder, please? I can't manage to find a Whitworth or AF that fits the hexagon. I know the large screw is 1/2 inch AF.
Thanks,
Mike

Various - often a 5/16" AF fits - it is a 1/4" unf thread.

Have you tried metric? Possible 10 or 11mm.
I've ran across the odd inch sized bolt that had a metric sized head. :o

Thanks for advice. I found that an 11mm spanner fitted. Bolts now unscrewed, good soaking with Plus-gas helped I think. Hopefully Tapitha will be MOTd and back on the road by end of month.
Cheers,
Mike
