Does anyone know the story behind brass trunnions?
I know the VERY early cars were fitted with them originally, but when were they discontinued?
Also I THINK they might be a different size to the later ones....... anyone confirm/deny this?
I don't think my '52 MM should have them, but I can't seem to find any info on them..........

If I remember correctly my BMC workshop manual suggests that the earlier type were no longer availiable and therefore if any work was needed then updated ones were to be fitted. I'm guessing that very few cars would have done both the low mileage and good maintanence to keep the old type of trunnion alive ..turbominor wrote:i know the 52ish and earlier had different truninons and stud patterns..
sure Mark at bullmotif told me all the differences a while ago
