Bought thermostat housing off ebay, New and it fits ok. it is off a Marina, has a threaded hole in the top which will need a fitting making to reduce it to fit the senser. £10 easier than making a distance piece.

Is it the correct angle for the top hose?

I believe that hole is for a black plastic plug which is where you fill the cooling system on the Marina. I think the elbow is also at a different angle to the Minor's...
