Just returned a clutch to David Manners ,fitted last week taken out last week ,slipped from the start .
Reason the springs left their positions and didn't hold the clutch flat on the flywheel ,got a refund but so much time and effort because the quality was Rubbish. They just said sorry about that.
I bought one from Leacy ,spot on .Glad it's fixed but still
Cheers Alex

haha I can beat that! currently in the middle of making a complaint so I wont say which supplier but its one that has been mentioned in this thread....
I have attached pics of my steering rack gaiters after........wait for it............5 weeks!!!
Thanks to the utter s***t that this company is dangerously producing I now have a steering rack full of grit, need to fit another set of gaiters plus need to spend more £££ on another tracking session.
Might be worth checking your 'new' rubber parts. Would also like to add that this company described these as 'Excellent Quality Ones' I hear the "oh this is the first one we have seen like this" story over and over again with this dealer when taking back many faulty items.[frame][/frame]

An age when roads were empty, machines were simple and every journey was an adventure!!
if any members local to me want to loan i have a set of tracking gauges rather than paying £40 for someone to do for you , its not rocket science is it

You know you can save the position of your tracking? - just inside the gaitor in your picture there are two flats so you can hold the steering rack end (can't think of technical name) with a spanner while you slightly undo the nut against the track rod end. Dab the TRE and rack end with tippex so you know the exact position they are in relative to each other. Then with the TRE still in position you can turn the end of the rack, counting the turns until the TRE pops out. Remove the nut replace gaitor (I always clean and regrease while I'm in there) put nut back, rewind rack end into TRE the correct number of times and line up the tippex marks, tighten nut, do the other side.
You can also use the above method when fitting a new Track Rod End, providing that you check that the distance between the locknut face on the T.R.E. and the centreline of the swivel joint on the other end is the same on the new one as on the old one. I normally only have the tracking checked properly when new tyres are fitted.
