Re: Tie rod
Tie rod - the arm running forward from the lower arm to the chassis front mounting lug? Just checking -some think is another part. Someone must have put the split pin it - so it will come out...long nose pliers? Take the (special) bolt out at the lower arm and pop the flat section out of the clamp. You can now rotate the arm (stillsons/vice grips..) which may give better access to the split pin. Failing which - heave hard and shear the pin...........

Re: Tie rod
Get plenty of Plus gas on it, straighten out the then end as best you can and tap it as straight as you can.
If you can fit something into the "eye" and lever on it then tap it, then lever it. and tap it some more, you may well get it out OK.
If you just force the nut off and shear the split pin it can be a devil of a job to even see where it was and try to get rid of the remnants, been there, done that!

Re: Tie rod
Could not get mine out so sheared the split pin off and bolted a lock nut on to the end of the thread

Re: Tie rod
A centre punch will generally remove the remains of the split pin I find.
