Hello
The rebuild on my 1950 MM engine proceeds well and last week we got it started for the first time. It has had serious work on it, sleeved bores and new virtually everything, pistons, bearings, valves and seats, head studs etc etc. We only ran it for a few seconds because the radiator is not fitted yet. One day I will work out how to get some pictures onto this forum!!
Any, the new question is about fuel pumps. The car had a German pump fitted, called HARDI. It is slightly shorter than the SU, exactly the same fittings and threads and so a direct replacement. I'd never come across before, any body know anything about them, are spares available or do SU bits fit. Of course when I tried it on the car it didn't work.

Re: Fuel pumps
Louise, thanks for the help. Have just had a reply from Hardi about pump spares. Not very helpful, they have been making electronic pumps for 20 years +. They don't supply any spares and suggest I look at the diaphragms - but are not helpful about what to do once I have looked at them!
So I have ordered a spares kit for an SU pump I have and will overhaul it. The Hardi would have been useful as a spare.
