L489 sidelight

Post by SUE482 »

Here we have a sidelight for my 1955 saloon, the chrome is original, re-chromed, but the boot and the holder are new. There doesn't seem to be much of the boot to be able to hold the chrome surround and lens in place, other than the the 2 lips on the top of the holder. Can anyone tell me if it was like this on the original.[frame]Image[/frame]

The original was the same, very little edge to hold it in place. Were you able to get the exact new rubbers, I had to get the later type with the chrome ring and trim that bit away.

Hi David thanks for the reply, I got the new rubbers from ESM. I also have a couple of the later ones, I will try what you did.
Cheers Ian.
