What’s the only age group to drive a Moggie?
My age group, 50-59.
Why?................................Because.
Nothing more!....................No, just Because.
Incontrovertibly, Incontestably, Undeniably, Because.
You don’t need to say any more, its just right that 50-59 age group is the only age group that should be allowed to drive Moggies.
In fact, thinking about it is making me go all sentimental.

Oh, I’ve got a car, it’s a regular out and outer,
Its taken me far, and I’ll tells you all about ‘er.
Its been 10 years since first we met,
Her bodywork was black as jet,
Its fading now, but she don’t fret,
Not my old gal.
She’s been on the road for forty years,
An’ it don’t seem a day too much.
Oh, there aint a nicer moggie in the land,
An’ its got such a lovely clutch,
No there aint a nicer moggie in the laaaaand
An’ its got such a luvverly cluuuutch.
There! Proof Positive. What other age group could burst into spontaneous song about their car!

I personally like to see the young enthusiast owning and driving a Moggy..... I am in the same age group as Woo but I wish the younger ones could have experienced the 'laid' back and not rushed driving style of cars including Moggys in the 60's, life wasn't so hectic then.....Enjoy anyway, I still prefer the quiet country lanes. What’s the only age group to drive a Moggie?

Me too! When I'm travelling to see friends, if I've got enough time off then I try to make the journey *part* of the holiday; there's so much to see around the UK that people never notice becuase they're busy flying past on the motorway. Last year, driving back from a (CCDE) camping weekend my friends and I took about 8 hours to get back (it's about a 4 hour drive), including time spent at a roman ruin and a stone circle.... that we just found....Enjoy anyway, I still prefer the quiet country lanes.
It's *far* more fun to travel that way

I agree with you there Kate, one of my favourite runs is over the North Yorkshire moors to Goathland, Nr; Whitby, it's where they film the Heartbeat series ( Aidensfield, as it's known ) I go there quite a few times in the year, the long way round, through some stunning countryside. It takes me about 3 hours, stopping to admire the views quite frequently.... over the main 'Moor road' you can do it in 1/2 hour, but thats not the same........It's *far* more fun to travel that way
When I was there in September they were doing the filming for the next series, I was actually filming them as they were filming some of the scenes.....quite interesting.
I will most likely do it again before Christmas, if the weather hold up....

i'll always remember going up the pen y pas in snowdon in a combination of first and second in the first moggy with a desperate trail of new cars behind us... splendid - especially when we stopped to pick up a couple of hitch-hikers (we don't do it to wind up fellow motorists - honest)
