Door bottom repair panels

Bubbling has started on the bottom of both doors where presumably previously bodged.repaired.

Seen these panels that are available from Bull Motif and wondered if anyone else in here had ever used them, and if so, do they look good when proffesionally fitted and painted, or is it better just to purchase 2 new doors?

Whoever 'bodged/filled/ and painted these, did a good job though.
Shame it didn't last, as it never does in my experience.....bit like on the front chassis leg.

Found more 'bubbling' around the rear number plate apeture now too.

A good professional welder should be able to do this job using the lower door repair panels. They will need a skim layer of filler and a lot of sanding down and smoothing to get a good final finish. Make sure they retain the drain holes under the door when they do this repair.

Yes, the panels are fine for repairing door bottoms and after the skim of filler the repair should be invisible from a competent restorer.


Make sure the repairers use weld thru primer on the flange and also protect the inside of the door after painting with cavity wax such as Dinitrol 3125 or Dynax.

Also, make sure they repair the inside bottom parts of the door as well, often if the lower outer skin has bubbled the very bottom of the door will need work as well.

I also like to lead load the seam so as to minimise chances of the skim of filler cracking later on in the doors life. (slamming etc).
