That article is riddled with errors and the site it quotes also has errors.

Usual old story about how terrible and futile British industry was, is and will ever be. Nobody should ever have bought a British made car because they all fell to pieces within weeks and had odd features like square steering wheels and front wheel drive.

People should all have bought BMW, Audi and Honda cars because they never give any trouble.

I wonder if the French regularly publish stories like these?

Trying to remember when I last saw a 1970s Toyota or Simca.
