Wiper blade refills

Post by Chris Edgar »

Anyone any suggestions for a source of wiper blade refills...either "cut to size" or the correct length for a 62 clap hands type?
there are various advertised on Ebay...any experience of them?
Seems a waste to have to buy the complete wiper arm when only the rubber is gone

Poundland?? Buy the blades and harvest the rubbers.... They seem to be tightening up on wipers at the MOT. Last year they told me the blades are actually supposed to clear water off the screen......but let me away with it. This year I cleaned the screen with thinners and then wiped it all over with Rain X. It worked !!

never thought of poundshops & never tried Rain-X, although I have heard of it.

I'm OK for now, just thinking of the future

thanks

I bought cheap refills and found them to be a bit narrow, went to my local car shop and he picked out a suitable refill which was big enough to cut in 2 and do both wipers. Think he said it was 9mm refill, but not 100% sure

The Minor blades are very small compared to modern cars, so what I do is buy a re-fill pack that is twice the size and cut them in half, - two blades from one! Just make sure you fit them the right way round so they don't slide down the arm.
Cheers John - all comments IMHO

Thanks,

I think that the width of the "spine" is 6.5mm, or 1/4" in proper measurements...read it somewhere & just been to check on it too.
