Re: Spotted today.
Bit late in uploading stills lifted from my in-car video recorder. The first was taken at 12:40 in the Worcester Park area on the road from Kingston to Sutton. It is a black 4-door sporting a badge-bar and badges.[frame]
[/frame]
Using VLC to view my car videos, took a "snap-shot" which gets written as a .PNG file and converted it to a JPEG. Even with enhancement, couldn't decipher the index number.
On Saturday, May 4th, I also got video of a working grey pick-up (carrying either loads of earth or horse manure) on the northbound A331 (Blackwater Valley Relief Road) in the Farnborough area.
Two pictures follow, the 1st of me joining the A331 with the Moggie already on it[frame]
[/frame]
and then coming up behind it[frame]
[/frame]
WPP 137H - is it a member's car?

Agree - I'd like one myself but might get mistaken for a traffic cop

Re: Spotted today.
Camera fitted to inside of windscreen, behind the rearview mirror and is not noticable. I record all my journeys after being forced into installing an "independant witness" after a nasty road-rage incident on the M3 last year. I have it set to record in HD at 720p (can also do 1080p) in 5 minute segments.
Have saved the footage of the National Drive It Day outing in my Traveller - may post up bits some time.

Re: Spotted today.
At last, have got time on the computer to upload today's video snapshot of a Rose Taupe Traveller in the Farnbrough area (Hants), that, with inside information, has been "stored" on this driveway for 12 years![frame]
[/frame]
This drive-by was a bit contrived as I was told of the car's existance a few days ago. I have also been asked if I can help in getting it advertised for sale.
I'll be doing a survey soon and will post up my results, if not an advert. All other banter on "in-car" crash-cam video recording equipment will now be moved to a new thread - suitable location to be notified soon.

Re: Spotted today.
Spotted today. Well, not quite. Spotted last week during a holiday on Malta.
We were amazed how many old cars there are still on the roads, and obviously in daily service!
Shame that the typical yellow and orange Malta busses are no more, the present service seems to be more effective, but many of the “modern” busses are in very bad condition. We had two bus breakdowns in one week, but as it was on lines with 12-minute-intervals, it wasn’t a problem.

The only old Malta bus we watched in service was this Bristol which I could capture at Bugibba bus station, probably on a charter service. We saw a few more during our journeys, but they were all parked in backyards, impossible to be photographed.
But our main aim was to watch Moggies, and there were quite many on the roads.

The day after we arrived there was a meeting of vintage Ford cars in Ta’Xbiex near Valetta, and we watched dozens of Escorts, Cortinas and Capris on their way to the event. But among those cars, there were also cars of other makes, such as Triumph Herald, Datsun 120Y and the above Moggy in excellent condition. We saw her a couple of times during our stay, but had no other chance to take a picture.

Two days later we were on a minibus trip to the neighbour island of Gozo, when we met another Morris Minor near Xlendi, apparently in good condition, too.

Unfortunately, not all of the cars we could see were in such a good condition. This Minor Pickup we found at Marsaxlokk has definitely seen better days, however …

… she is earning her keep as an advertising board for a restaurant.

Of course we also had a look at the motor museum at Bugibba, it turned out to be just 100 yards from our hotel. The museum accommodates lots of interesting cars, including two Morris Minors, a four door saloon and a pickup. Even my wife liked the museum very much, especially for its lovingly arranged scenes and the additional displays in showcases.

Inevitably came the day of our return, but we had a few hours before we were taken to the airport and went on a last stroll through Bugibba. To our surprise we found this pair of restored cars in a carport in the town centre. The view was like a farewell present.
We like Malta very much, not only for its vintage cars. This was our first but definitely not the last holiday on the island.
See you at Charlbury.
Hubert

seen on Friday in Croft whilst taking my son to school in our maroon traveller, waved but didn't flash, after all it was near the church.....Audrey1955 wrote:I often see a lady from the older generation driving a 4 door 1000 saloon, white/cream around warrington.
