Traveller Van

Post by Matt »

Guys,

I know that in scandanavia they converted travellers to vans, but has anyone seen one done in this country?

I do quite like commercials (I own 2 transits, but have no real need for them...) and I'm considering turning my trav in to a van! (Partially to hide the scaffolding thats going to go in the back to stiffen the structure when the new engine goes in)

Any thoughts?

Are you getting confused with the Domi vans?

These were vans adapted with rear windows & seats (as a tax get-around)

I don't think so Ray

I think I read about it in Russ (forgotten Surname atm) book on Minor Commercials. They converted them to vans by replacing the sliding windows with aluminium sheet.

I've struggled to find pics online for the Domi van but the one I did find was more like an extended traveller with side windows replaced in aluminium..
so probably it's me that's confused!

DOMI made a van body for a chassis cab and also provided 'commercial travellers' metal sided no glass and often no rear seat. Only available in Denmark and could only be used on certain days and times! Taxation rules etc....
