I noticed the outside window seals seem rusty and need replacing. What are these strips called? I think they used to be like a brush fitting. Any advice will be appreciated.

Thanks for your help, I phoned the Morris Minor spares, they said they will put the clips in for me, i will just work out how to get the old ones out.

Wind down the door glass to it's full extent. The seals are held in by the clips which are pushed through small holes in the seals which are pushed into the car. One on each side the the door glass. You need a small flat bladed screw driver. Find the position of a clip and very carefully insert the screwdriver between the seal and the door just to the side of the clip. Push down with the screwdriver and then towards the hole where the glass should be. This will release the clip. Do the same with each clip working your way along the row. Make sure not to drop these down the gap! Repeat with the inside seal. Do this SLOWLY and carefully taking your time. If you do it too quickly you can scratch your paint. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the advice, I did exactly what you said and I replaced the weather strips this evening, it was a lot less fiddly than I expected it to be. This should stop rain water geting into the door cavity.

You will never manage that I'm afraid - make sure the drain holes in the door base are clear - and spray inside the door cavity with lots of waxoyl........

Buy some extra clips to replace the clips that you are going to drop down the inside of the door

It is quite strange as I didn't drop any down the gap in the door. I didn't change the inside weatherstrips, as they were ok.

It doesn't take long to check the holes. Lie on the floor looking up the door. You should see a row of holes. These should be kept free of debris. Use a small screwdriver - better still something like a satay/chopstick! to clear them. This will allow water to drainout.
