In the workshop manual AKD 530 it shows a picture of the clutch assembly and pt 29 is the spring clutch withdrawel lever where is this spring positioned, inside the bellhousing or outside next to the clutch arm, I have 2 gearboxes and I cant see this spring on either of them I am now thinking my boxes are not for the series mm minor. I am bringing back to life a series mm that was converted by a previous owner to an overhead valve minor.

Outside next to the clutch arm, there should be a small hole for it at the very end of the arm.
Also there may be a hole in the back plate for the other end.

I have never seen that spring on my Series MM gearboxes. The pedal return spring (45) is sufficient to do the job.
Spread a little grease around the clutch release bearing pivots when fitting it.
