HIF 6

Today I brought our Van to the MOT man.It has a Marina engine with a HIF 6 Carb.The last two years I didn't have any problems but Mr. MOT saw fuel coming out of the vent (nr 8 ) It splashed it in the direction of the exhaust.It must have been a coincidence that it happened at that moment.
Does anyone have an idea what is the matter.Is the float sticking and does that result in the vent overflowing?
I hope someone knows the solution.

It is a vent - it should have a rubber tube on it - running upwards and then down where it can't be seen..... The fuel level may be a bit too high - but they are very reliable. Are you using the noraml SU fuel pump?

I have fitted the mechanical pump.But as I said it functioned that way for two years and I use the van all year round.
