Under Dash Parcel Tray

Howdy everyone, wondering if anyone can tell me if, other than the padded covering, there is any difference between the main support bar of the parcel try between the series?
The support bar in my Series II is AWOL and I need to locate another and want to make sure of if I have to find only a specific Series II item or if any Series item will fit to support a new Milboard for a Series II.
Oh and if a later support bar will work does it have to have the padding on it (as the Series II ones don't) or would the later one look terrible without said padding?

I had a similar problem. I tried a later 1000 one in my series 2 but because the early series 2 bar mount further under the dash the later one was too long to use the original mounting points.
