Bootlid stay rubber retainer

Post by jagnut66 »

Hi,
I'm hoping someone can help me locate a replacement for this:
[frame]Image[/frame]
Needless to say I couldn't manage to get it out in one piece, in my defence I'd say it was partially because the rubber has aged.....
Unfortunately that isn't the only problem with my 'perfect' spare bootlid....

I thought I'd rub it down and clean it up prior to painting, only to find some kind soul had 'repaired' it with a good wedge of filler  ............... sanded to the correct profile and painted though...............
The pictures are of what the area looked like after the filler had been ground out.
Fortunately it appears that it has only penetrated the outer skin in a small area, so I think it is repairable, without the need to buy a repair section and cut away the entire bottom of the bootlid. Time will tell....

Thanks, I'll give him a call later and see if he still has any.
