Hi
Is there any way to know (viewing it from the outside) whether my 948 has a standard cylinder head or 1098 cylinder head fitted?
Thanks

Remove the rocker cover and see what part number in cast into the head. The 948 can be 2A 628, 12A 1456 or 2A 629 and the 1098 is 12G 202. Anything else could be very intersting!

If there is no plug/temperature gauge send off on the head (under the thermostat cover and just above #1 plug) you can be fairly certain it's standard 950.

I do have a temperature unit fitted to the head. Does some of the 12A heads have these sending units fitted?

" Does some of the " ??? If it has a temp sender then it is either a 1098 head (12g202) or better - or a Mini head......

Where does a 12G295 head fit into all of this. That's what I have on my 948. I've noticed the intake valves are slightly larger than the standard 948.
