Alfa 156 seats do they fit?

Post by Padster »

Hi New to this and after a little advice.
A friend and I (mainly the friend as hes the mechanical whizz) have given mouth to mouth to a '61 2 door over the winter. Now MOT'd, first one for 6 years, and motoring.
We will be doing a long charity run in the summer in her 5500 miles, in 23 days, different country evey day. We are both over 6ft and the standard seats have seen much better days. I'd like to fit something that reclines for the trip and have access to a pair of cheap and local Alfa 156 seats, which looking at the forum are mentioned as compatible. Charlie_morris_minor will be emailing me the club info sheet on fitting other seats next week but is indisposed for a while. I dont want to let the seats go if they will work. Does anyone have any knowledge of the seats and if they fit well?

Thanks

Hi,
Alfa 156 seats will fit, there are other posts on here that will confirm this.
Good luck with the charity run, you'll certainly stand out from the crowd in your Minor, which looks very well by the way, your resuscitation techniques obviously work!
However if you're planning to sell the Moggy after the run I'd hang onto the original seats and refit them, as potential purchasers will prefer the option of originality.
The Alfa seats will always sell, try this site for starters, so you'll not be out of pocket.
Best wishes,
Mike.

Thanks samurai

Do you still have reasonable access to the rear? When mounted on a frame do they adjust? The 156 was a 4 door so I dont expect the seats will spring forward to aid rear access?

Thanks Martin

drivers seat on mine has height adjustment.
access to rear seat is awkward but do able....
seat runners work fine.
you have to wind the seat back down for rear access....
best thing for me is only my dog travels in the back [frame]Image[/frame]

Sounds doable. Angle iron on Saturday it is. Cannt imagine the havoc my spaniels would cause in the back. Thanks for your help.
