clicking sound when in fiirst gear and same in reverse what to buy to fix i have heard how it most probably could be a cog can i buy 1st and reverse cog and change them its the 1098 cc

It could be either 1st gear - or the matching cog on the laygear, which is more likely. Both relatively expensive. If the box is otherwise working well (ie not jumping out of gear - anything like that) I suggest you try to live with it. Minimise use of 1st gear -ie just use it get the car rolling, and then in to 2nd - and it should last many a mile yet. However -I would start looking for a good spare box and get it 'in stock'.

When 1st gear sounds like a bag of spanners it is time to change the box
