First Shopping Trip

Post by gtt1951 »

Today I actually used my Moggy for a real shopping trip. First to Camberley Autofactors to get some connectors and then onto my local Big Tesco - bit of a mistake as today all the panic buyers were out, was lucky to get a space.[frame]Image[/frame]
Returning to car with food shop, then on to the Petrol forecourt and its first real fill (from a pump, rather than from plastic cans, syphoned off from my son-in-law's broken down Nissan Micra).
Had to think a bit about NOT using the usual Black hose (containing diesel fuel) :o [frame]Image[/frame]
A full fuel tank :D Then home and check the gearbox oil level - down a bit, so topped up with some left-over Comma SAE30 oil (as suggested by BMC). Now all covered up and tucked up for the night.
Regards, George.

Great stuff!
I took mine to the dump, loaded up with lots of clippings! People always comment when I use it for what it was meant for, they seem surprised when it is jam packed with stuff!
I always tell them, that is what they were designed to do!
My speedo now works, (for the first time in 13 years) email me sometime and I will tell you what I did, as I had the old 803 speedo and the 1098 box like yours,
Phil
My 1956 Series 11 Traveller! Bought when I was 17 (1985)....sold 6 years (1991) later......bought back 9 years after that! (2000) With 6 different owners in the middle, what a lucky boy I am!
