https://submissions.epetitions.direct.g ... ions/46739Mallory Park Race circuit is under imminent threat of closure due to proposed noise restrictions from their local council. Motorsport and Motorcycle enthusiasts need to unite to prevent this from happening all over the country. Please take a moment to consider the heritage of British motorsport, in both two and four wheel formats, where it's been and where it's going, if we don't we could easily lose more. An e-petition has been set up which requires 100,000 signatures to trigger a government debate and preserve what is still a fantastic circuit for racers and spectators alike. Make your voice heard by signing this petition.

Re: Save Mallory Park
What are the noise restrictions?
Shouldn't the FIM/FIA be introducing quieter machinery like other inner city motor sports?
My sport (speedway) comes under constant pressure from councils, but the governing body finds it's easier to adapt to the regs rather than fight them. We've introduced a new silencer which knocks the decibels down to less than normal traffic conditions.

Re: Save Mallory Park
Its the people that buy a house next to a church and complain about the bell ringing or a house in the country and complain about the cocks crowing. I bet the circuit was there long before the residents.
On the other hand, at the last Donnington national rally it was great when the racing stopped, you could hear the aircraft taking off!
Where is Mallory Park?

Re: Save Mallory Park
I agree Mike. People get houses at lower than the market value because of a long standing noisy local amenity. They then fight to get the amenity closed, which then pushes up the value of their houses a tad.
One such couple in Mildenhall did this with the Speedway stadium their, even though the stadium is next door to a US airbase.
They took their right to silence on a Sunday to the european court. They sued the stadium owners who ran speedway on a sunday for 90 minutes.
They lost, the costs involved sent them bankrupt and they had to sell up and move on. Sometimes it pays to check out the local neighbours before you sign to make a purchase of a property.
